2nd Graders

About 200 very nice 2nd graders walked from Zimmerman Elementary to visit us today.  They are learning about plants in their Science class.  It was fun having these "future gardeners" in the store!

 

FAIRY GARDEN DEMO

Join us today April 24th at 5pm for a Fairy Garden/Miniature Garden demonstration.  This is a HOT trend for 2012.  We will show you that with a little imagination you can create a beautiful Fairy Garden of your own!  We have plants and accessories for purchase to use in your creation!

 

ZHS PROM

We're ready and excited for Zimmerman High School Prom coming to Nelson Nursery tomorrow from 12-3!  Can't wait to see all the beautiful couples!!

 

LIL' ROOTS

There is still room in our Lil' Roots Club meeting on Thursday April 19th at 4pm.  It's free to kids 5-9.  The theme is "Bluebird Finds a Home".  Sign up is required and children must be accompanied by an adult.  Call our office or sign up online. 

 

WEEDERS!

Look what just arrived...they're called Weeding Glasses!  They're sunglasses with bifocals on the bottom.  Now you don't have to take off your sunglasses and put on your reading glasses when you're in the garden!  Plus they come in different strengths and floral designs.  TOTALLY AWESOME!!

FREEZE WARNING!

A freeze warning has been issued for tonight and tomorrow night.  Be sure to cover any tender annuals or veggies that you may have planted.  Also cover any shrubs that are flowering now to save the flowers.  Looks like it may be warming towards the end of the week.

Closed on Easter

Our Garden Center is closed on Easter Sunday so everyone here can spend time with their families.  We hope everyone has a blessed day!

Potato planting time

An old tradition is to plant potates on Good Friday, but that date changes every year.  And sometimes we could have a foot of snow on the ground!  In our area mid to late April is a good time.  Pick yours up here!!

CONCRETE STATUARY HAS ARRIVED!   A full semi load of concrete lawn ornaments have arrived!  They are all unpacked and now it’s time to set up displays.  We have something for everyone’s taste!!
